"I am Harold, Earl of Wessex, and brother-in-law to Edward, king of England.  It is 1065 and I was recently victorious over the Welsh king, Griffin, at the battle of Hereford.  On land gained hereabouts, I intended to build a hunting lodge fit for the king but Griffin’s son, Caradoc, has taken revenge for his father’s death by killing the builders and soldiers stationed on the site, and I fear my plan will not now be realised."
